Cindy Miscikowski

Cindy Miscikowski serves as Vice-Chairwoman of the ICTF JPA governing board. Miscikowski has dedicated herself to outreach and public service for the City of Los Angeles including her work as a Los Angeles City Council Member. Miscikowski also serves as the President of the Port of Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners.

Miscikowski previously served as staff to Councilmember Marvin Braude for 22 years, 18 of which were as chief deputy. Miscikowski was also executive director of the Skirball Museum and Cultural Center in Brentwood from 1994 to 1996. As a former Los Angeles City Councilmember, Miscikowski represented the 11th District for 8 years from 1997 to 2005. On the Council, she served as chairwoman of the Public Safety Committee for five years, where she moved to streamline the recruitment and hiring of police officers, and led the five-year program to implement full paramedic resources at all of LA's fire stations.

Also serving as vice-chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Miscikowski oversaw the City's $4 billion annual budget as well as the voter-approved bond financed projects, which built new fire stations, police stations, libraries and recreation projects throughout the city.

For many years, Miscikowski has been active in the community and helps to improve neighborhoods in Los Angeles. She is also widely recognized for her crucial role in the preservation of thousands of acres of open space in the Santa Monica Mountains for park use by future generations.

Miscikowski also received numerous awards including the Public Service Award in June 2008, as well as the Political Leadership Award in 2005 from the League of Women Voters.

Miscikowski and her husband, attorney and developer Doug Ring, live in Brentwood, California and are active supporters of numerous community organizations, including the Off-Road Bicyclists Association. As a staunch advocate of women's issues, Miscikowski is also a member of the Women's Political Committee and the National Organization for Women's Legal Defense and Education Funds as well. Miscikowski holds a bachelor's degree in political science from UCLA.
